IPL 2025: 100% away wins! What happens to RCB at Chinnaswamy?

Send Push

A comfortable victory for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in yet another away game! After a 7-wicket win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh, RCB now hold a 100% win record away from home.

After losing to the same opponent at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB bounced back in style. It was an impressive effort by their bowlers to restrict PBKS to 157 runs, and their batters completed the chase without breaking a sweat.

Fans cheer RCB's win, but ask about  Chinnaswamy form

While this team has proved to be dangerous in away games, something seems off with their form in their own fortress — if it can even be called that. They’ve played three games at home so far and have lost all of them, with the batters collapsing like a pack of cards. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to question what’s going wrong with the team, who seem to lose their way as soon as they land in Bengaluru.

One said, "Royal Challengers Bangalore take the win in Chandigarh! Back on the road and back to winning ways — RCB brought the heat and walked away with a solid victory! A clinical performance, true grit, and that never-give-up spirit. That’s the RCB way!"

Another said, "RCB have 100% win record in IPL 2025 @ Away venue".

One wrote, "RCB looks like a different team altogether in away games. It's a mystery what happens to them at Chinnaswamy".

Another added, "Bhai yaar jis tarah RCB apne ghar Chinnaswamy mein khelti hai, 3rd May ko fir kaise harayenge CSK ko?"

One stated, "5-0 on the road, but at Chinnaswamy? They're playing hide-and-seek with wins!"

About PBKS batting

Earlier, PBKS were restricted to 157/6 by RCB after a promising start from Priyansh Arya (22 off 15) and Prabhsimran Singh (33 off 17). RCB's spinners took control in the middle overs, with Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) sharing four wickets while conceding just 51 runs in eight overs.

Making his first appearance of the season, Romario Shepherd struck in his opening over, while regular breakthroughs kept PBKS on the back foot. A late unbeaten 43-run stand between Shashank Singh (31 off 33) and Marco Jansen (25 off 20) while Josh Inglis added 29 off 17 helped Punjab recover to a respectable total.
