In IPL 2025, Punjab Kings faced another tough defeat, this time to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 20, losing by 7 wickets. As always, the families of the players were present in the stands, supporting their loved ones. Among them was Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shrestha, who appeared visibly upset after the match. Her frustration stemmed from the backlash she received from fans blaming the families for the team’s poor performance.

Shrestha Iyer Responds to Online Trollers

Shrestha Iyer took to Instagram Stories to express her anger at those who targeted the families of players, especially after the defeat. In her post, she addressed the people who blamed her and other family members for the team’s loss.

She wrote: "Those who are blaming the family for the defeat, honestly it is very sad. The truth is that whether we are physically present or not, our support for the team remains unwavering."

Shrestha, who had been supporting her brother during the match, expressed her shock at how some people resorted to trolling rather than focusing on the actual match. She emphasized that her support for Shreyas Iyer and his team was consistent, regardless of the outcome.

Her Message of Support and Resilience

Shrestha continued: "People who are pointing fingers at me for the defeat, this thinking of yours is not only laughable but also embarrassing." She also reminded everyone of her consistent support for the team, mentioning that she had been present at multiple matches, including games for Team India, many of which ended in victories.

She concluded: "Whether the team wins or loses, my support is with them. And, this is what true support means."

Shrestha further pointed out that winning and losing are part of the game, urging trollers to reconsider their actions and be more thoughtful before making baseless comments.

RCB's Comfortable Victory Over Punjab Kings

In the match, Punjab Kings batted first and set a target of 158 runs, but RCB chased it down comfortably, losing only 3 wickets in 18.5 overs.
