Marc Cucurella has confirmed that he has signed a new contract with Chelsea, having been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer. Cucurella joined the Blues from Brighton back in 2022 for a fee of around £63million.
And the left-back has cemented himself as a key player under Enzo Maresca, playing the most minutes of any Chelsea star last season. Cucurella's contract was due to run until 2028, but he has now agreed an extension after it emerged that Al-Nassr were interested in signing him.
Cristiano Ronaldo's side were said to be plotting a swoop for the Spain international, but Chelsea have moved to end the speculation. Although the Blues are yet to make a formal announcement, Cucurella confirmed the news after Chelsea's 5-1 win over West Ham on Friday.
"Yes, it's done," Cucurella tol Spanish media after Chelsea's victory at the London Stadium. "We already did it. I'm very happy, the club gave me the confidence and I'm very happy to be here. Hopefully I will have a great year."
Cucurella assisted Joao Pedro's opener against the Hammers, while Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah were also on target. However, they did suffer a blow after Cole Palmer picked up an injury in the warm-up.

Palmer was due to start, but had to be replaced at short notice due to a groin issue. Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: "Cole in the last four or five days was not one hundred per cent.
"Today he tried in the warm-up, but he felt something, so we preferred not to take any risks and make it worse, and we will see in the next hours if it's something important or not. It's a groin problem.
"It's already the Palace game he was not one hundred per cent for, but he has tried to make a big effort for the club, for the team, for the fans, because he is really keen about the team. Tonight he tried again but it was not very good."
Reflecting on the result, Maresca added: "The start was not the best in the way we planned with Cole Palmer's injury and conceding a goal after five minutes, but the reaction from the players is something that is very good to me.
"Especially you could see how confident they were about the game plan. They stuck to the game plan on and off the ball and continued in the same way. I am very happy, very impressed."
