Gregg Wallace has celebrated his wedding anniversary as his final series of MasterChef returns to screens with some huge edits. The presenter was axed from his position on the hit BBC cooking show following an investigation into alleged behaviour.
There had been concern over the future of the already filmed series following both Wallace and John Torode's axe, with some calling for it to be scrapped. However, the BBC has pushed ahead and the first episode will air tonight.
Wallace and Torode have started to be airbrushed out of the series, with their screen time reduced and promotional pictures nonexistent. It comes after reports Wallace is trying to 'earn a living' after MasterChef exit amid 'battle every day'.

Amid MasterChef's return to screens, Wallace has marked a milestone of his own as he celebrated his wedding anniversary. He is married to wife Anna, who has continued to stand by him following the allegations.
She shared a wedding snap of the couple cutting their huge white tiered cake on their big day. Wallace beamed in the snap wearing a blue suit while holding onto a knife with Anna, who wore a huge mermaid style white gown.
Anna, who is 22 years younger than Wallace, captioned the photo: "9 years married today love you @greggawallace," as she continued to show her loyalty to her husband. Wallace re-shared the snap to his own Instagram but added no further comment.
The married couple live with their son and Anna's parents Rina and Massimo. Wallace had previously suggested his wife needed extra help around the house after she became a mother for the first time, citing that he wanted to keep his wife as his "fun, sexy girlfriend" post-motherhood.
In November last year, it was announced that Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated.
Last month a statement from production company Banijay UK and the BBC said they had agreed “Mr Wallace’s return to MasterChef is untenable”.
Wallace issued an apology saying he was “deeply sorry for any distress caused” and that he “never set out to harm or humiliate” in the wake of the Lewis Silkin review that saw 45 out of 83 allegations made against him upheld.
Torode was the subject of an allegation about using racist language that was upheld as part of the Lewis Silkin review. The TV star said he had “no recollection of the incident” and was “shocked and saddened” by the allegation.
The latest series of MasterChef landed on BBC iPlayer this morning before airing on BBC One at 8pm. All previous episodes on iPlayer feature clips from the show and currently most from Series 19 and 20 feature Torode or Wallace or both in the imagery.
But the three episodes available for Series 21 do not feature them at all and instead have the MasterChef logo. In the BBC description of episode 1, neither presenter is mentioned. However, in previous series descriptions they are.
On screen Gregg Wallace's first words are "That is a cracker of a job." He is referring to a dish but could equally be referring to his well paid post as food critic, which he has been axed from due to his behaviour.
