As a fragrance connoisseur with over 100 perfumes in my collection, I've always been intrigued by the buzz around Jo Malone. However, only one scent from the brand has truly piqued my interest - the limited edition Ginger Biscuit.
This was a Christmas release that, once sold out, was gone for good. So, fans of the brand will undoubtedly be thrilled to learn that it's officially back this festive season, along with two other fragrances.
Upon hearing about the new releases, I dashed to my local Jo Malone store. The three Christmas fragrances are Orange Bitters, Ginger Biscuit and the newly released Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot.

The first cologne I sampled was Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot, which starts with apricot, transitions to a sandalwood heart and then settles down to vanilla. While it didn't scream Christmas to me, it certainly fills a void in the Christmas collection for those who appreciate a woody scent.
This perfume only joined the Jo Malone London line-up this year, and I believe it could be an excellent choice for those who prefer something subtle and woody. It's worth mentioning that if you spend over £100 on Jo Malone London's website, you'll receive a 9ml bottle of this for free, reports OK!. Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot is available in 30ml for £59 or 100ml for £128.
Next, I tried the scent that prompted my visit: Ginger Biscuit. I can completely understand why everyone was so upset when this one was discontinued. It's a mixture of ginger, roasted hazelnut and tonka bean that's utterly addictive. To me, it had the scent of applying a warming lotion before spending an entire day behind the scenes at a bakery making gingerbread.
The ginger element hits you straight away but as it's the opening note, once it begins to settle we're treated to roasted hazelnut and tonka bean which feels thoroughly cosy and soothing.
The staying power is remarkably good with this one as well - I tested some in the shop alongside another fragrance and the only one I could detect six hours on was Ginger Biscuit.
Ginger Biscuit brought to mind an ideal combination of the perpetually sold-out Sugar Pumpkin (£13) from The Body Shop, which delivers snug sweetness and an almost moisturiser-like quality, and Lush's newest launch Scooby Snacks (£35) which, regardless of its title, has the aroma of a cinnamon treat.
It's not only me who'ssmitten with Ginger Biscuit though - from the customer feedback it's obvious that buyers are purchasing multiple bottles.
One customer penned: "Bought two bottles this year, for myself, as this to me is Jo Malone's very best. Please bring it back every Christmas, forever!"
Meanwhile another commented: "This fragrance is wonderful. I've worn it for over a year, even during summer (even though it isn't a "summer scent"). It's sweet without being sickly, vanilla-y without being cloying, and spicy without being bitter.
"It's like a kitchen baking sweets during the autumn/winter period. Essentially, the perfect gourmand fragrance. It isn't overwhelming but, for me, it does last on the skin. People aren't going to smell me coming and going (which I prefer), but they will smell me when standing close. I REALLY WISH this wasn't a seasonal, limited-time cologne. I currently have three bottles on my dressing table!".
I typically only opt for orange perfumes when I'm off to the gym so I didn't thinkOrange Bitterswas going to resonate with me but it is incredible. It's a blend of sweet orange, bitter orange and sandalwood that manages to create a zesty, warm and festive scent.
This was the second scent I tried on in store and while I did love the smell, and my aunt is even planning to buy the Festive Duo (£36) which has a 9ml bottle of this in, I did find after six hours that I couldn't really smell it anymore.
Jo Malone London also has a Fragrant Festivities Cologne Collection for £90, which contains all three festive scents in addition to Midnight Musk and Amber and Fir and Artemisia.
