Liverpool have seen a bid for Alexander Isak rejected by Newcastle as the transfer saga involving the Magpies striker continues.
It's understood that the offer from the Premier League champions falls short of Newcastle's valuation of the player, which is around the £150million mark. Mirror Football understands Liverpool's total package was worth £120m including add-ons, with £110m guaranteed.
Liverpool are expected to continue pursuing a deal for the Sweden international, 25.
Isak has been training alone at the facilities of his former club, Real Sociedad, after he did not join Newcastle on their pre-season tour of South Korea.
Newcastle remain reluctant to sell their star striker, who plundered 23 goals in the Premier League last season.

But with Isak keen to explore a move away and LIverpool now firming up their interest, the Magpies could have a fight on their hands.
Ollie Watkins is understood to be a player Newcastle would target if they were to lose Isak. The Aston Villa striker has already been the subject of transfer interest from Arsenal and Manchester United this summer, while the Magpies have also been in the frame for Benjamin Sesko.
Eddie Howe, Newcastle's head coach, said of the situation earlier this week: "He is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control."
Liverpool have already splashed some serious cash this summer to strengthen the squad that won the Premier League in Arne Slot's first season at the helm.
Speaking earlier this week, Slot said: “I always say, another thing about Liverpool is that if we see a chance in the market we never hesitate to bring someone in.
“It’s about quality and we have already made some very good signings.”
