Whilst I’ve been busy stocking up on my own advent calendars ahead of December, there’s one family member I couldn’t possibly leave out of the festive fun – my dog Penelope. Whilst an advent calendar may technically be a wasted concept for a pooch, she certainly won’t turn down the opportunity to get a tasty treat every morning, which is why I love picking up an advent calendar just for her.
One of my – or should that be her – favourites is Pooch & Mutt’s Dog Advent Calendar which we get every year. We’re not alone though, as it almost always sells out quickly, so now the 2025 version has launched you’ll need to be quick to snap it up.

The calendar is affordably priced at £9.99, and this year the calendar’s flavour is pigs in blankets, which is already a guaranteed winner for Penelope. Whilst we haven’t opened the doors of the calendar yet, we did also pick up an extra packet of the pigs in blankets treats and they went down a storm, so I know this is going to be a winner come December.
The Pigs in Blankets Dog Advent Calendar has 24 doors for your dog to open and behind each door is not one but two individual treats, which is great if you have two dogs, or one who is eternally hungry (looking at you Penelope). The treats themselves are made with high-protein pork which is great for boosting energy and promoting muscle growth.
They’re also grain-free, and contain collagen which encourages healthy skin and coat, as well as probiotics which support digestion. The treats inside the Pigs in Blankets Dog Advent Calendar are also suitable for all sizes of breeds, and ages from 12 weeks old upwards.
Of course if you do miss out on the Pooch & Mutt advent calendar, or just want to check out some other options, over on Amazon you can pick up the Denzel's Jumbo Christmas Dog Advent Calendar 2025 for £15. It’s packed with all-natural treats in six different recipes and flavours, with each of the 24 doors hiding a mini packet of treats – perfect for multi-dog households.
You could also head over to Lily’s Kitchen’s Advent Calendar for Dogs which is £10.50. These are also made with all-natural ingredients, with the doors hiding the brand’s Breaktime Biscuits, which are made with peanut butter and banana, and the Bedtime Biscuits, which are made with a sprinkling of chamomile and passion flower.
