Two prisoners have died at HMP Bronzefield within days of each other, causing outrage and concern among their fellow lags.
The pair, one aged just 25, were housed in the notorious women's jail in Surrey alongside some of the country's worst female convicts including baby killing nurse Lucy Letby as well as Constance Marten and Beinash Batool.
Prison sources told the Mirror one of those who died was on the detox wing and the other was in the prison's healthcare unit. A prisoner said: "It's so sad what's happened here today. There is no proper healthcare at all... That's two in less than two days. This woman that died last night, she was really young and she was detoxing.

"Women are so scared to actually go to sleep now because we don't know if we're going to even wake up alive... The healthcare here is dire. Women are dying, they are dying here unnecessarily. These are young women who don't need to die."
Sodexo, a private company which runs the prison, Surrey Police and the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman are investigating both deaths. A spokeswoman for Sodexo confirmed a prisoner died on July 28, and that a second died on July 31.
They added: "The next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with the family. All deaths in custody are investigated by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman, and therefore we are unable to comment further at this stage."
Healthcare services at HMP Bronzefield are commissioned by NHS England. NHS England said: "We are deeply concerned by reports of two deaths at HMP Bronzefield in recent days. While we are unable to comment on individual cases, NHS England is working with the healthcare provider and HMPPS to fully understand the circumstances and will ensure all appropriate action is taken."
A Surrey Police spokeswoman told the Mirror: "We were called to HMP Bronzefield in Ashford around 4.30pm on July 28, following a report of the discovery of the body of a prisoner.
"The death is being treated as unexplained, and an investigation is underway. It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances or third-party involvement at this time."
They later added: "Officers attended HMP Bronzefield in Ashford around 9am on Thursday, July 31, following a report of a death of an inmate. An investigation into the circumstances is underway. It is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances or third-party involvement at this time."
In 2023, an inquest heard that an 18-year-old prisoner had to bite through her newborn's umbilical cordas she gave birth alone in her prison cell after no one came to help her. A prison officer at HMP Bronzefield - which is the biggest women's prison in Europe - disabled the call bell to her jail cell after first-time mum Rianna Cleary asked twice for help as she went into labour.
Baby Aisha was found dead in the teenager's arms by fellow prisoners the next morning when they found the pair covered in blood. The inquest slammed both the prison and hospital that looked after her for failings that meant baby Aisha died.
The Mirror previously reported child killers Lucy Letby and Beinash Batool are causing fury inside prison by getting areas "they want to visit" closed off to other inmates.
Lags among the 550 serving time at Bronzefield were angry that the creepy best pals were "swanning around like they own the place". They had been getting special private visits to the hair and nail salon, and the prisoner officers' cafe, over fears they will be attacked by other women serving time.
Letby is serving 15 whole life sentences for murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven more while working as a neo-natal nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital. She has become best mates with Batool, who tortured her step daughter Sara Sharif to death.
