Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 12 districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar city, till 3.40 pm on Monday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower along with Lightning may occur at one or two places in the districts of Balasore, Cuttack, Angul, Jajpur, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) in 3 hours
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
According to the morning bulletin, Odisha may experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at most/many places with isolated heavy rainfall from October 1-3 under the influence of a low pressure brewing over north & adjoining central Bay of Bengal. Thunderstorms & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) may also occur in the state during the next 5 days.
