came from two goals down to salvage a draw against Liverpool and put a slight dampener on the Reds' title celebrations. The Gunners were already back on terms by the time Mikel Merino was shown a second yellow card, forcing them to see out the Anfield showdown with 10 men.
Cody Gakpo and scored in quick succession in the first half, but Mikel Arteta evidently struck a chord with his half-time team talk, as and Merino were on target in the second period. Here, Express Sport takes you through how each Arsenal player performed on the day...
Arsenal player ratings vs Liverpool (4-3-3)David Raya: 7
Produced a great save to deny Diaz from close range early on. Not much he could have done about either Liverpool goal.
Ben White: 6 (Calafiori, 78)
Steady but unspectacular. Gakpo had some joy against him, and there was a chance to launch an Arsenal attack from a throw-in, which White spurned by inadvertently stepping over the sideline.
William Saliba: 6
Good and bad moments. Stopped Gakpo in his tracks early on but Diaz's movement was too sharp for him when the Colombian converted Liverpool's second.
Jakub Kiwior: 4
Played an unfortunate role in both Liverpool goals. Gakpo was ahead of him in the box but he still left him free to head in. Then he was outpaced by Dominik Szoboszlai in the move which saw Diaz double the hosts' lead.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 7
Tough assignment against Mohamed Salah and it didn't all go the teenager's way. But he is so confident with the ball in tight spaces, even when a player of Salah's calibre is breathing down his neck.
Martin Odegaard: 8
A clever free-kick created an early chance which Bukayo Saka side-footed wide. And a brilliant shot from range was saved onto the post by Alisson before Merino turned in the rebound.
Thomas Partey: 6
Tenacious work saw him tackle Curtis Jones in his own box, but he wasn't sharp enough to capitalise and turn that gilt-edged opportunity into a goal.
Mikel Merino: 5 (sent off)
Alert to score the rebound from Martin Odegaard's shot, but completely lost his head for the tackle on Szoboszlai which led to his second booking.
Bukayo Saka: 5 (Zinchenko, 88)
Should have done better with the chance Odegaard's free-kick created and didn't track Andy Robertson before he crossed in for Gakpo to score. A slight improvement in the second half.
Leandro Trossard: 7 (Tierney, 78)
Not decisive enough when Partey's tackle on Jones created a scoring opportunity early in the game. Made amends with an excellent cross in for Martinelli to halve the deficit.
Gabriel Martinelli: 7
Well-taken header to get Arsenal back into the game but not much to report otherwise.
