Police have launched an investigation after a man and a woman were found dead in a property in Cornwall. Devon and Cornwall Police said on Thursday that the emergency services were called to Treclago View, Camelford, at about 10pm on Wednesday amid concerns for the welfare of the two people.
A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s sustained serious injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from the force. The man and woman were known to each other and their next of kin have been informed.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the investigation will seek to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Det Insp Peter Gee said: "We are supporting the next of kin of the people who have died in this very sad incident.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what has happened, but we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter."
He said a cordon remains in place at the property while officers continue their enquiries and a thorough examination of the scene is carried out.
Mr Gee said: "There will be a heightened police presence in the area and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers."
