captain has reportedly been given a deadline of next week to decide on his future at Old Trafford, following a staggering £200million offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal.
After United's defeat in the Europa League final, Fernandes acknowledged the possibility of an exit, saying: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it is what it is. And football sometimes is like this. I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go. I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days.
"In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way."
The reports that Al-Hilal are keen on the midfielder and are prepared to bid around £100million for him. They're reportedly offering a three-year contract with a weekly wage of £700,000 and up to £65m-a-year in add-ons, totalling near £200m.
Al-Hilal is expected to present a formal proposal to Fernandes shortly and has set a deadline for the end of May for his decision, aiming to wrap up the transfer before the Club World Cup next month.
Despite United's disappointing season, Fernandes has shone with 38 goal contributions in 56 appearances across all competitions. Consequently, United manager Ruben Amorim is keen for his captain to remain at Old Trafford.
"I think it is easy to understand that [transfer speculation], not just because of the numbers but the way he plays," Amorim said earlier this month. "He is a top player and we need top players.
"He is a leader, the captain. It is natural that people want Bruno, but we want to keep him. He is one of the top players of the world."
However, following their 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final, which cost the club £100m and a place in next season's Champions League, United may be compelled to sell.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has since acquiring a stake in the club, and United will also face a £10m penalty from sponsors Adidas for failing to qualify for the Champions League.
