Mike Tindall announces milestone trip abroad next month - as Zara's attendance in doubt

has just announced he will be travelling to Melbourne, , in July, for the to watch the Lions take on the Wallabies. Former England rugby star, Mike, 46, took to Instagram to inform his fans of the news.

The former hosts a rugby podcast titled 'The Good, The Bad & The Rugby' (GBR) alongside James Haskell and Alex Payne.

On Mike's Instagram, the three together announced a competition via the podcast to win a trip to the country to meet the hosts and watch the game. The post stated: "WIN THE ULTIMATE LIONS EXPERIENCE! Together with Visit Victoria, we're giving away a TRIP TO MELBOURNE for the 2nd Test as the Lions take on the Wallabies - plus a VIP meet & greet with the GBR hosts!"

The match between the Lions and the Wallabies will take place on July 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

It is not yet known if Zara, 44, will join her husband, or their three children, Mia, 11, Lena, six, and four-year-old Lucas.

Zara, Princess Anne's daughter, and Mike first met in Sydney in 2003, but since marriage, attending the Magic Millions Polo and Show Jumping event on the Gold Coast.

Speculation has been rife that they , particularly after visits and comments about how "home from home" it feels.

Speaking to Australian Women's Weekly in 2019 about moving, Zara admitted: "It would be a little bit hard commuting. But after that ... yes, I think if an opportunity came up we'd definitely think about it."

Mike and Zara Tindall tied the knot in July 2011, just three months after married Princess Kate in London.

Mike Tindall was "drowning his sorrows" in Sydney after getting cut from England's Rugby World Cup team, and Zara was on a gap year,

. In a medal ceremony, she was awarded the silver by her mother, Princess Anne, at the Olympics in London in 2012.

The Princess Royal had previously become the first royal to compete in the Olympics when she rode in the equestrian three-day event at the 1976 Games in Montreal, atop the late Queen Elizabeth's horse, Goodwill.
