A devastating documentary exploring the tragic death of beloved presenter Caroline Flack is now available on Disney Plus, though one key figure is notably absent from the series.
Spanning two episodes, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth follows the late star's mother as she pieces together the circumstances surrounding her daughter's heartbreaking death.
Caroline died by suicide aged just 40, whilst awaiting trial over allegations she assaulted her then-partner Lewis Burton.
The former Love Island presenter's arrest, just months before her passing, placed her at the centre of a 'relentless media storm,' which the documentary also examines, reports the Mirror.
A synopsis reads: "After her arrest in 2019, she became the target of a relentless media storm. Vilified in the press and online, her world spiralled - ending in tragedy when she took her own life.
"This powerful two-part Disney+ documentary follows Caroline's mother, Christine, as she investigates the truth about her daughter's final months - uncovering new shocking details, asking difficult questions, and exposing the misrepresentations, pressures, and failures from institutions and decision makers that shaped Caroline's final days."
Whilst Christine and Caroline's closest friends are interviewed for the show, her former boyfriend does not feature.
The documentary producers claim Lewis turned down the chance to appear in the Disney+ programme. At an exclusive preview of the series, producer Sophie Clayton-Payne disclosed that Lewis had been asked to contribute.
"We contacted as many people as possible," she explained. "We contacted Lewis right from the beginning and we said 'We'd love to talk to you off-record just for research purposes [to] understand your perspective on everything.'
"We also invited him to take part in the series, on camera. He declined to take part," she added.
Sophie went on to explain why the documentary team believed it would be wrong to 'pressure' Lewis into participating. She said: "I think it's really important to remember that he's never spoken about this publicly. People grieve differently and we have a duty of care to people on and off camera.
"So, we were never going to put pressure on him to take part. But we did always keep the door open for him should he ever change his mind."
