Ludhiana: Police in rural Ludhiana have arrested a village carpenter accused of hiding a camera in a woman's bathroom and blackmailing her into a years-long cycle of sexual exploitation.
Authorities said the case dates back to around three years ago, when the woman's husband hired the man for furniture work. According to the complaint, the carpenter allegedly installed a hidden camera in the family's bathroom while the husband was out in the fields and the children were at school.
Investigators said the accused connected the device to his phone, showed the woman obscene footage and threatened her with claims he had also filmed her daughters. He allegedly forced her into repeated sexual encounters under this threat. The complaint further alleges the man called the woman to a hotel in 2025 and assaulted her again. When she refused further contact, he purportedly circulated intimate images.
The woman filed a police complaint, and following an investigation, a case was registered. The accused was arrested on Sunday, said ASI Paramjit Singh, the investigating officer.
