'Kunal ko maine nahi mara': Delhi's 'Lady Don' Zikra denies role in Seelampur teen's murder

NEW DELHI: Zikra, popularly known as Delhi’s ‘Lady Don,’ has denied any involvement in the brutal killing of 17-year-old Kunal in Seelampur, claiming she is being falsely accused.

“I did not kill Kunal. I am being framed unnecessarily,” she claimed while being taken to court following her arrest.

The murder, which took place on April 17, shocked residents of the Seelampur area . Kunal, a local teenager, was allegedly targeted by a gang linked to Zikra—who, according to investigators, was at the center of a growing web of juvenile criminal activity.

Gang recruitment, gun obsession, and a notorious past

Zikra, who has a two-year-old child and reportedly lives separately from her husband, is no stranger to the police. She was previously arrested under the Arms Act for posting videos on social media where she was seen brandishing firearms — a theme common in her online persona.

Authorities say Zikra worked in the past as a bouncer for the wife of wanted gangster Hashim Baba. Her current activities allegedly involved recruiting and grooming a gang of 8 to 10 minors, training them for extortion and violent crimes.

Investigators believe she wielded considerable influence over the group, many of whom idolized her and mimicked her behavior.

Fear and influence in Seelampur

Local residents claim Zikra and her gang had created a climate of fear in the neighborhood, frequently roaming the area with weapons and intimidating locals. Her notoriety earned her the moniker of ‘Lady Don’—a title that investigators say she embraced and used to build her gang’s image.

9 held so far

Police have so far arrested nine people, including two minors, in connection with Kunal’s murder. Among those in custody is 18-year-old Sahil, who has been identified as the prime accused. Authorities revealed that several suspects were trying to flee to Nepal via Uttarakhand, but were intercepted and taken into custody before they could escape.
