Tamannaah Bhatia seems to have landed her next role, this time in director Rohit Shetty’s upcoming biographical action film, starring John Abraham in the lead.
According to the latest reports, the actress will portray the role of Preeti Maria, the wife of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. In the film based on the true story of Maria's rise up the ranks, Tamannaah will play a role described as 'emotionally pivotal' to the narrative, Mid-Day reports. It further states, “Preeti supported him through some of the most dangerous and testing moments of his career,” making Tamannaah’s character integral to the story's emotional depth.
The film, which stars John in the lead, is said to be based on Maria’s autobiography titled 'Let Me Say It Now'. It chronicles his remarkable 36-year career with the Mumbai Police, during which he handled several high-profile and dangerous cases, including the 1993 Mumbai blasts and the 26/11 terror attacks.
This marks the second collaboration between John and Tamannaah following their work together in the 2024 action-thriller 'Vedaa'. The new project also marks the actress' first collaboration with director Rohit Shetty, known for his high-octane action spectacles.
