Yuzuki Nakashima , one of the celebrated members of Japan's best girl group Sakurazaka46 , has in recent years opened up about her remarkable journey, demonstrating how far she stretches to follow both entertainment and educational careers. In maintaining her brilliant entertainment career, Nakashima has never lost her concentration on seeking higher education , demonstrating an unwavering passion for both careers.

Japanese singer Nakashima travels 1000 kilometers daily to attend college

Nakashima's routine every day is anything but punishing. To be able to attend university while doing her job as a singer, she wakes up every morning at 5 am. She finds herself at Haneda Airport in Tokyo by 6 am and boards the very first early morning flight to Fukuoka, 1,000 kilometres from there. This is an integral part of her super commuting practice that allows her to attend classes in Fukuoka, where her university campus is located.

Once she arrives in Fukuoka, Nakashima finds her way to Kitakyushu Airport at 9:30 am and commutes to her university campus on the bus. Despite her busy schedule, Nakashima has been able to make effective use of her traveling time. Instead of considering it wasted time, she makes use of her flights to study, complete homework, and prepare for her subsequent classes, in effect turning the four hours flying daily into meaningful study time.

Financial challenge behind Nakashima’s daily super commute

While Nakashima's ability to balance both her entertainment and study lives is impressive, her super commuting lifestyle has a huge cost. Tokyo to Fukuoka one-way flight daily is more than 15,000 yen (approximately Rs 9,000), which equates to nearly Rs 20,000 per day on commuting alone. This expense forms yet another aspect of hardship in her otherwise demanding lifestyle, yet Nakashima finds time for her studies without compromising her work life.

How Nakashima turns her commute into productive study time

Perhaps the most astonishing aspect of Nakashima's routine is how she maximizes her time on her flights. Rather than spending her travel time sleeping or resting, she uses the time to work on coursework, prepare for tests, and prepare for her classes. By taking full advantage of her commutation time, she is also able to stay on top of her schoolwork despite the hassles of crossing the country on a daily commute.

Apart from studying, Nakashima's evenings in Tokyo are taken up by dance and vocal classes. She invests most of her leisure time in perfecting her craft so that she remains at the height of her game as an artist. This tight schedule has been part of her life for four years now, which is testifying to her remarkable ability to juggle both demanding academic demands and the expectations of a working show business profession.

Sacrifices behind Nakashima’s career and education

The price to Nakashima of the supercommuting routine is significant, but it's clear that she is personally committed to both her education and career. The cost of travel every day, coupled with the time and energy spent on both scholarly courses of study and professional work, are measures of the sacrifices she has to undertake in order to triumph in both aspects of her life. Despite the weight, Nakashima stated that her passion for her studies and her necessity to graduate is reward enough for her diligence.

Nakashima preserved the details of her rigorous schedule to herself for years, deflecting attention from the efforts required of her in pursuit of schooling and her career. But as she nears graduation, Nakashima has emerged with her tale, revealing the level of commitment necessary for maintaining both a celebrity career in entertainment and a college degree.
