: IMD Issues Rain and Storm Warnings Heavy Rain and Dust Storms Expected in Northwest IndiaAccording to the IMD, a strong spell of rain accompanied by dust storms is likely to impact Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh over the next 24 hours. These states have been experiencing extreme heat, and the impending rain is expected to bring a substantial drop in temperatures.
Specific areas including Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, Jhansi, Mahoba, Prayagraj, and Varanasi have been put on alert for rain and thunderstorms, beginning Saturday, April 26. The Delhi-NCR region is also under watch, with authorities warning residents about the possibility of strong winds and localized flooding.
Eastern States Also on High Alert for Pre-Monsoon ShowersThe IMD has also issued warnings for parts of eastern India, where pre-monsoon rains accompanied by strong thunderstorms are expected. States like Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Odisha are likely to witness rain and thunderstorms from April 26 onwards.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, as lightning strikes and gusty winds may accompany the showers. The weather changes are expected to provide temporary relief but could also disrupt daily life and transportation services.
Western Disturbance Brings Rain to Northern HillsJammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are set to experience rainfall due to an active Western Disturbance moving across the region. Mountainous areas can expect moderate to heavy showers, raising the possibility of landslides and waterlogging.
Meanwhile, southern states including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana have also been placed under heavy rainfall alerts, as weather systems intensify across the Indian subcontinent. The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and urges citizens to stay updated through official weather bulletins.
